Our 2000 Lace Retreat to the Ant Street Inn in Brenham, Texas, was a refreshing weekend getaway, and a good time was had by all! The Lace Escape committee members, Chris Apple, Jan Armentrout, Judy Aycock, Elizabeth Munkvold, and Judy Ward, outdid themselves this year! Not only did the weekend go off without a hitch, but all attendees were pampered and spoiled with wonderful meals, a beautiful antique-style setting, and party favors galore! Committee members hand-made items ranging from pincushions to scissors to a case to put them in! Every item coordinated with the theme of this year's retreat- Heart in Hand.
Oh- we did actually gather to make lace! Judy Aycock, of Houston, taught a Beginning/Continuing Bucks Point class, and Louise Colgan, of Newark, California, taught a Bedfordshire class.
Thanks, ladies of the Lace Escape committee, for your hard work!
Thanks to Jan Armentrout and Chris Apple for the pictures!
Please enjoy our virtual tour of the weekend! The following pages are set up in chronological order (roughly) with pictures and journalling designed to give you the feeling of being at the retreat.
